A professional is distinguished by his confidence and competent use of the tools of his trade. Likewise, learning to use the tools of leadership will cause you to be more successful in your leadership role. This module emphasizes attitudes and skills essential for all leaders at every level.
Much of our lives are filled with negativity, which can cause a less-than-positive outlook and can rip apart self-esteem and confidence. This module will teach you to effectively and appropriately use praise and positive reinforcement to gain and hold respect, build a positive learning environment, and build up self-esteem.
Whether you work with children or adults, you will likely encounter those who will test the limits of your tolerance and patience, and may be disruptive to your group. You will learn to “draw the line” by using preventative teaching to establish expectations beforehand, and how to “hold the line” by using a variety of skills to turn back those who test the limits.
A challenge to your authority or a disruption in your group requires a measured response to solve the issue and get back on track. LEAD teaches an escalating scale of responses that will help you to deal with everything from minor disruptions to major infractions. We’ll discuss real-life situations that have occurred and how they were successfully handled.
